A candle is pretty, but it’s still a miniature fire!

Before:
Trim the wick to 1/4" before each lighting. A long or curved wick can cause uneven burning. A wick trimmer is ideal, as it catches combustion debris, but simple nail clippers for a new wick or your fingers for a charred wick work just fine!
Place the candle on a stable, level, and heat-resistant surface.
Keep the burning surface free of any debris or wick trimmings.

During:
Leave the candle burning until the wax is melted from edge to edge (about 2-3 hours). Do not burn a candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Doing so may overheat the jar and cause breakage and/or premature scent burn-off.
Do not handle the candle while it is lit. The jar can become very hot!
Always keep an eye on your candle; keep out of reach of children and pets.

After:
To unmold it, leave ¼” of wax at the bottom before extinguishing it for the last time. You can reuse your jar several times with Coton Corail candle refills.
Compost the remaining wax! (Remove the wick base first).
